NW says Not in My Neighbourhood in S.Ockendon
By Laura Anderson
Neighbourhood Watch in South Ockendon have been stepping up their campaign in support of Not in My Neighbourhood Week.
150 new signs are being erected in the Thurrock district on signed up roads in the area.
Angie Pearson, Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator for Essex Police, thinks this is a great step forward for a growing partnership in the district. She said: “Neighbourhood Watch has proven to work time and time again. It is a great way for residents to look out for each other and also an effective information sharing method between the watches, police and council.”
The latest sign was erected outside the house of Ron Crissell, Deputy Chairman of Thurrock Neighbourhood Watch. “Neighbourhood Watch is a very important concept. We have a new generation in Thurrock and with it we have a new generation of Neighbourhood Watch. A key difference for us is the use of technology, as our website acts as a hub of information for coordinators and residents alike.”
